Fleuriot

While Austen never mentions French champagne, it was certainly being drunk in Regency London, which is fortunate, as I wanted to create a champagne label as the magazine’s only drink advertiser. The idea was to design a series of painted adverts reminiscent of early French alcohol posters.

Each advert features a key influencer of the time, many of whom appear elsewhere in the magazine. Their presence here continues the visual storytelling and lends the campaign a sense of fashionable familiarity.

Pickering and Pickering, the named suppliers on the advert, are inspired by Berry Brothers, London’s oldest wine merchants, still trading today.
