The Redcoat Rake

Throughout the Pride and Prejudice Novel Magazine, we placed advertisements for theatre productions, both real and imagined. Each playbill blends original typography and historical references with our own creative interpretations and .ai-generated imagery. Where possible, actors’ names from original productions were included. To maintain thematic coherence, the .ai ensured all male actors wore striking red jackets, underscoring their roles as cads—with one notable exception: Cinderella.

The Redcoat Rake
Central to Regency comic entertainment was the celebrated clown Grimaldi. Here, we've cast him in our imagined production, The Redcoat Rake, even providing him with a song, "Mr. Wick Runs Out Quick," inspired by Austen’s infamous rogue, Mr. George Wickham.
